Light and Sound!

Year One have been very busy scientists this term! They have been learning all about different forms of energy.

Here are a few things Year One have been learning about:

• Sounds can be produced by scraping, blowing, striking and shaking.
• Sounds are made when objects vibrate.
• The volume of a sound is how loud or soft the sound is.
• The pitch of a sound is how high or low the sound is.
• A high sound has a high pitch.
• A low sound has a low pitch.
• The slower something vibrates, the lower the sound.
• The faster something vibrates, the higher the sound.
• The volume and pitch of a sound can be changed.
• There are many forms of energy, including sound energy, heat energy, light energy, electricity and movement.
